Axelos partners with Defra for COP26 E-alliance
October 26, 2021
One highlight of COP26 E-alliance, is Axelos' introduction of the new ITIL® 4 module, ITIL 4 Specialist: Sustainability in Digital & IT. It explores how sustainability can be integrated into a service organization's strategy, tactics, and operations using the ITIL 4 framework.
The new module has been developed in close collaboration with Defra, the UK ministerial Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Chris Howes, Defra CDIO and SRO for Sustainable Technology Across Government, said: "Defra has been working with Axelos on sustainability and IT service management for a couple of years now. We have to recognize that sustainability and our impacts are becoming more global in nature. Axelos has a truly global reach, and we are delighted to be sharing our experience of using technology to improve sustainability. Specifically to manage and mitigate the impacts of technology delivery."
Axelos' CEO Mark Basham will take part in the E-alliance CEO Panel Discussions on 5 November. He said: "We are proud to be one of the Tech for Climate sponsors and introduce our latest ITIL 4 offering at the event.
"Working with Defra on this new module was an amazing opportunity. We knew right from the early conversations we had back in 2019 that we would be able to play our own role and bring sustainability into the ITIL framework. By doing so we are able to support organizations which are considering the social and environmental impact of their operations.
"This has become a hugely important topic within the IT and digital space. Organizations can no longer sit back and wait for others to take climate actions. We all have to take responsibility and act now."
ITIL 4 Specialist: Sustainability in Digital & IT will be available for candidates at the end of November 2021.
